Privacy Policy
Mimi Learn It is a learning app for children ages 2 to 8, used with a parent or guardian. This policy explains, in plain words, what we keep, why, and who helps us run the app. We built the app to keep as little as possible.
Who uses the account
Only a parent or guardian (18 or older) creates an account and adds children. Children never create accounts, never enter an email, and never sign in with Google or Apple.
What we keep
| About | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The grown-up | Email address. A password, stored only as a one-way scrambled code (never readable). If you sign in with Google or Apple: your email and that service's account ID. | To sign you in and keep your family's progress across devices. |
| Each child | First name, age, a picture choice, an optional "how to say it" spelling, and lesson progress (which letters, which days, how many answers were right). | So Mimi can greet your child by name and track what they've learned. |
| Name voice | If you choose, a short audio clip of Mimi saying your child's name. If you record yourself saying the name, your recording is used once to make Mimi's version and is not kept. | So Mimi says your child's name correctly in her own voice. |
We do not collect your child's last name, photo, birthday, address, location, contacts or any other personal information.
What we never do
- No ads, ever.
- We never sell or rent anyone's information.
- No tracking, advertising networks or analytics tools inside the app.
Microphone
Some activities ask your child to say a sound into the microphone, and grown-ups can record a child's name. The microphone only turns on when someone taps the microphone button. Lesson speech is turned into text by your device or browser's built-in speech recognition (on Chrome this is a Google service); Mimi Learn It does not store it. Name recordings are handled as described above.
Services that help us
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| ElevenLabs | Makes Mimi's voice | A child's first name as text, or a grown-up's recording of the name, to create Mimi's audio |
| Cloudflare | Delivers the website securely | Normal web traffic |
| Google / Apple | Sign-in, only if you choose it | What you agree to share at sign-in (email and name) |
On your device
The app saves progress in your browser's storage so it works quickly and offline. Clearing your browser data removes that copy; your account copy stays on our server.
Your choices
- Remove a child, clear a child's progress, or start over from scratch any time in Grown-ups.
- Ask us to delete your whole account and every child on it by emailing us. We delete it within 30 days.
- Ask us what we hold about your family, or to correct it, the same way.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it or ask us to. Daily backups are kept for 30 days, then erased.
Children's privacy
Mimi Learn It is directed to children and follows the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Only a parent or guardian can create an account and add a child, and parents can review or delete their child's information at any time.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and tell account holders about important changes before they take effect.
